PURPOSE:To improve the recording density by setting the width of a center rail constituting a slider rail below the width of the side rail and causing the minimum floating quantity to the center rail thereby minimizing the floating quantity of a magnetic gap. CONSTITUTION:When the width W of the center rail 15a and the width (w) of a side rail 15b are equal, the floating forces given to the center rail 15a and the side rail 15b are nearly equal to each other and a minimum floating quantity FH is caused as the center rail 15a by the spherical shape of the disk opposed face. When the width W of the center rail 15a is narrower than the width (w) of the side rail 15b, the floating force given to the center rail 15a is smaller than that of the side rail 15b, the deflection of the recess of the opposed medium face is less and the minimum floating quantity FH is caused to the center rail 15a. Thus, high density recording and high output are obtained.
