PURPOSE:To continue dither addition while it is prevented that a summing signal exceeds a maximum digit by lowering the level of dither when the level of data is increased in the high level range of data. CONSTITUTION:The presence of possibility of a sum C of outputs of a digital dither generator 3 in N-bit (N>M>=2) aud N-bit (N>=3) digital information signal A exceeding N-bit is decided by an overflow level discriminating circuit 5. When it is decided as the presence of possibility in excessof N-bit, the level of the digital dither 3 is limited (4) in the range not exceeding the N-bit. Then the digital information signal A and the data of a digital dither B are added (2), the result is converted (7) into an analog signal and the analog dither is subtracted (9) from the analog addition signal E.
