PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a seek error, etc., on the lowermost face of a magnetic disk even when the floating amount of a magnetic head is reduced by providing a recessed groove of a spindle hub extending from the tip to the end edge of a flange part. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head is allowed to float from a magnetic disk 4 due to a slight sir layer located between the magnetic disk 4 and magnetic head by circulating the air stream generated according to the rotation of the magnetic disk 4 in the order of a magnetic disk 4, filter 8, duct 7, through hole 6a, recessed groove 3b', through hole 5a and magnetic disk 4. Now, the recessed groove 3b' is engraved over the end edge of a flange 3a from the tip part on a spindle head 3. The recessed groove 3b' is therefore reached upto the face of the magnetic disk 4 being closets to the flange 3a, a sufficient air stream feeding is made possible even to said face, the air stagnation near said face is evaded and the generation of a seeking error, etc., on the lowermost face of the magnetic disk is prevented.
