PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of subresonance at tracking drive by providing an optical system support supporting the optical system and a bearing member supporting rotatably the optical system support in a direction vertical to the optical axis of the optical system. CONSTITUTION:The tracking control is applied by using an electromagnetic force between a current flowing to a tracking coil 6 and a magnetic field generated by a tracking permanent magnet 13 and turning an objective lens support 4 around a pivot bearing 19. The displacement angle theta of the objective lens support 4 is decided by the relative position deviation distance between the objective lens 1 and the desired laser light irradiation position of the information recording medium. Since the support of the objective lens support 4 in the tracking control is executed by the pivot bearing 19 and the pivot axis 18 and no support is executed by a support means having the spring performance, the generation of the sub resonance at a high frequency band is prevented.
