- The adaptor is designed to screw (3) directly into a standard socket and has a socket element (4) that receives the pins of the lamp, e.g. small fluorescent tube. The centre element (1) of the adapter houses the inductance unit that forms part of the starter circuitry for the lamp. - The inductance (or choke) has a centre coil that locates on a 'U' shape core that is seated into the housing. A temperature sensitive fuse is coupled into the electrical connections to the pins.
