PURPOSE:To improve fatigue strength by specifying the amounts of C, Si, Mn, Cu, Ni, Cr, Mo, Co, Al, and Ti and by reducing and limiting the amounts of P and S. CONSTITUTION:This maraging steel has a composition which contains, by weight, <=0.03% C, <=0.1% Si, <=0.1% Mn, <=0.1% Cu, 7-20% Ni, <=0.1% Cr, 1-10% Mo, <=18% Co, <=1% Al, <=2.5% Ti, etc., and in which amounts of P and S as impurities are regulated to <=0.002% and <=0.0015%, respectively, and (%P+%S) is also regulated to <=0.003%. This steel is remarkably improved in fatigue strength.
