PURPOSE:To produce a key top with a character clearly enhanced easily by coating and impregnating a key top body having the outer surface made of a bright plastic with dark type ink at the part other than the character (front and side) using a pad. CONSTITUTION:A heat resistant resin (e.g. polybutylene terephthalate and polyether ketone) is used to form a key top body 10 having the bright outer surface (e.g. white and yellow). Then, a pad 12 (a roughly conical molding made of a soft gelatin, silicone rubber or the like) is used to coat the key top body 10 with a dark dye type ink 18 at the part other than the character 14 and the side 16 thereof 10. Then, the key top body is heated up to about 180-200 deg.C for about 3-4min until it is impregnated with the ink at the desired part and allowed to cool to form the key top with the character portion clearly indicated. |
