PURPOSE:To obtain a multi-wavelength semiconductor light source having a high stability by a simple structure, by constituting it so that a semiconductor laser array is operated an optical amplifier array, and an oscillation wavelength is determined by a resonance wavelength of a resonator having a wavelength selectivity, which has been provided mainly on the outside. CONSTITUTION:A semiconductor laser array 1 is operated as an optical amplifier array of a wide wavelength band. The respective optical waveguides 4 which have been coupled with one piece of common optical waveguide 7 provided with a high reflection factor surface in one end, through a parallel coupling part 5 having a periodic structure 6 are operated as external resonance circuits having a wavelength selectivity. Accordingly, by coupling these plural optical waveguides 4 and optical amplifiers 4, a laser oscillation of multi- wavelength is obtained, and simultaneously, since a light beam of each oscillation wavelength is brought to a common optical waveguide, a multiplexed optical output is obtained in an optical output fiber 9 which has been coupled through the high reflection factor surface 8. |
