PURPOSE:To avoid getting a troque shock at the time of inputting a mechanical supercharger, by lowering the setting value of a bypass as long as the specified period when the mechanical supercharger is inputted. CONSTITUTION:When reaching to maximum supercharging pressure, an actuator 23 opens a waste gate valve 21 and supercharging pressure maintains its maximum extent. An accumulator valve 17 connects a sub-suction passage 15 to the side of a secondary air feed passage 22, and a part of air to be discharged out of a mechanical supercharger 16 is fed to an exhaust passage 8. Most of the remaining air is relieved to the suction side by a relief passage 18. When coming to the specified engine speed, the accumulator valve 17 is made so as to be interconnected to the sub-suction passage 15 and supercharging by the mechanical supercharger 16 is started in joining the supercharging made by an exhaust turbosupercharger 12 together. Simultaneously a supercharging pressure regulating valve 26 in a supercharging regulation passage 25 is fully opened, and supercharging pressure at the downstream of a blower 11a, taken in through a supercharging pressure intake passage 24 acts on the actuator 23 without being decompressed.
