PURPOSE:To obtain a wire rod of high accuracy, by applying a load of back tension between roller dies and a winding roll thereafter cutting an oxygen infiltrated layer, which causes a break of the wire rod, by a die cutter. CONSTITUTION:Between a supply roll 2 and a winding roll 3 of a winding storage type wire rod 1, a correcting roll 4 serving as a feed roll, three sets of cassette roller dies 5, die cutter 6 and an applying device 7, for applying a lubricating dust to prevent the wire rod from a scratch, are provided to be arranged from the upstream side. And back tension is loaded between the cassette roller dies 5 and the winding roll 3. And the wire rod 1, which is elongated by the cassette roller dies 5 being left as loading the back tension, removes a hard and fragile oxygen infiltrated layer (so-called alpha case), causing a break of the wire rod, to be cut by the die cutter 6. Here the flection of the wire rod 1 is corrected by the cassette roller dies 5.
