PURPOSE:To enable highly accurate judgement on the propriety of mounted state with a simple adjusting work, by a method wherein a reflection image and a transmission image are synthesized by being synchronized by an image synthesizing means and the obtained image is supplied to a judgement on the propriety of the mounted state of circuit parts to eliminate the effect caused by the mutual interference between lightings. CONSTITUTION:Reflecting lightings are performed with first lighting devices 21 and 22 at the image sensing/scanning position of a first image sensing device 41 and a reflection image signal of a printed wiring board 1 is obtained from the first image sensing device 41. A transmission lighting is performed with a second lighting device 31 from the backside of t he printed wiring board 1 at the image sensing/scanning position of a second image sensing device 42 and a transmission image signal of the printed wiring board 1 is obtained from the second image sensing device 42. As a result, the sensing of a reflection image and a transmission image is performed independently, thereby reducing the optical interference between the lighting devices.
