Epoxide resin-reinforced composition precursor of composite materials, comprising one or a plurality of non-hardened polyfunctional epoxide resins, of which at least one contains in its chains one or a plurality of bivalent patterns having the formula (I) wherein A and R, which may be identical or different, represent bivalent aromatic radicals in C6 to C20, X is the radical -CH2-CHOH-CH2, p is equal to 0 or 1 and n is an integer from 1 to 500, and a fiber-reinforcing material consisting all or in part of carbon fibers. Application of this composition to the manufacture of composite materials with long carbon fiber reinforcement, particularly using the composition in the form of preimpregnated products.
