PURPOSE:To enable accurate measurement of positional deviations and an angle of attitude, by calculating equations of straight lines as two sides orthogonal to each other on an object in a measuring area based on outputs of two image sensors which cover two sides orthogonal to each other of an object located at a reference position almost at the center of respective field of view thereof to perform a computation based on the equations. CONSTITUTION:In a measuring area where positional deviations and the angle of attitude of an object A are measured, ITV cameras or other proper image sensors V1 and V2 are arranged to cover two sides (straight lines l and m) orthogonal to each other of a rectangular object A located at a reference position almost at the center of the field of views thereof. When the center of the object A is deviated in the position by DELTAx and DELTAy with respect to the x and y axes respectively from the origin O of a coordinate system and inclined by an angle theta with respect to a reference attitude of the object, in order to measure positional deviations and an angle of attitude, positions of two sides, namely, straight lines l and m of the object A are detected as image with the image sensors V1 and V2 to determine the equations thereof.
