PURPOSE:To improve resistance to high temp. oxidation without deteriorating strength properties and workability, by specifying respective amounts of C, Si, Mg, Al, and Fe. CONSTITUTION:This spheroidal graphite cast iron has a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.5-4% C, 3.5-4.3% Si, 0.02-0.06% Mg, 1-2% Al, and the balance Fe. In the above cast iron, resistance to high temp. oxidation can be improved without causing deterioration in strength properties as well as in workability.
