PURPOSE:Humidified air is circulated, as the water for moistening is controlled to a prescribed temperature, whereby the food is thawed almost under the same conditions throughout the year without drying and denaturing the food to be thawed on its surfaces. CONSTITUTION:The thermally insulative and tightly sealable thawing chamber 2 is divided into the fan compartment 2a and the thawing compartment 2b with the partition wall 4 having a number of venting holes. The air-circulation fan 5 is set in the fan compartment 2a and a humidifier 8 and a mesh tray 10 for placing the food to be thawed thereon are set in the thawing compartment 2b. The water in the pan of the humidifier 8 is controlled with a heater 7a to 15-24 deg.C and vaporized with the heat from the fan motor whereby the food is thawed under humidified conditions.
