PURPOSE:To improve colorability and shelf life by incorporating a 1H- pyrazolo[3,2-C]-S-triazole type magenta coupler having specific groups into molecular structure. CONSTITUTION:The 1H-pyrazolo[3,2-C]-S-triazole magenta coupler has at least one group selected from -COOM and SO3M (M denotes a hydrogen atom or cation) and -SO2- in the molecular structure. Said coupler may contain at least one group selected from -COOM and SO3M and -SO2- respectively separately in, for example, the 3rd position and 6th position of the 1H-pyrazolo[3,2-C]-S- triazole nucleus. Or the coupler may simultaneously contain at least one group selected from -COOM and SO3M and -SO2- in either the 3rd position or 6th position. The more preferable case is the simultaneous incorporation of at least one group selected from -COOM and SO3M and -SO2- in either of the 3rd or 6th position.
