An optical effects projector comprises (e.g. for discotheques) a stroboscopic light source (3) and a projection lens (2), and flash triggering circuitry for operating the light source at a flash rate at less than fifteen flashes per second. The projector may-have an elliptical reflector support behind the light source carrying a plurality of discrete reflectors (Figure 4, not shown). The illustrated embodiment comprises a gate (4) for receiving image materials such as an effects wheel (8) or film strip for projection, and also comprises a rotatable piston (10) driven by a motor (9). <IMAGE> |
