PURPOSE:To attract an unrestrained strip and to give a high tension by incorporating electromagnets in a bridle roll in the inlet and outlet sides. CONSTITUTION:Respective bridle rolls 2A and 3A in the inlet and outlet sides are a hollow roll type which a cast steel outer cylinder 9 is fixed on a central shaft 8. Plural electromagnets 10 are fixed on the inside surface of the cylinder 9 making a gap between every magnets 10 in the circumferential direction so that an electromagnetic force throughout the entire roll periphery is generated. Respective magnets 10 are provided with cables 11 connected by a rotary type contact 12 are led to a control room so that on or off turning of the power supply and the strengthening and weakening the electromagnetic force of respective rolls 2A and 3A are independently and manually or automatically operated. In that method, the magnets 10 are energized to attract a strip and to give the same high tension as that of ordinary devices. |
