PURPOSE:To uniformalize residence time of fine particles by fixing a fixed weir vertically to a revolving shaft and to provide paddle units adjoining with said fixed weir between to satisfy specific conditions in a lateral single shaft agitator equipped with a plurality of paddle units on the revolving shaft. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal shaft is installed in a lateral cylindrical container provided with a supply opening and a discharge opening. A plurality of paddle units, consisting of more than one paddle respectively, are provided on said shaft to form up an agitating means. A fixed weir is fixed in a position to divide the length of container to the vertical direction of the shaft, remaining semicircle opening upward inside the inner wall of container. The inside of the container is thus divided into two agitating zones. The paddle unit on the supply opening side and the adjoining paddle unit on the discharge opening side should be arranged to satisfy the conditions shown in the formula. By said arrangement, residence time of fine particles is uniformalized. |
