发明名称 ULTRASONIC WELDING OF FLEXIBLE ELASTIC FOAM
摘要 PURPOSE:To make it possible to surely ultrasonic-weld a thermoplastic skin to a flexible elastic foam with a tool horn having a large welding area by a method wherein a thermoplastic skin is laminated onto a cushioning member made of flexible elastic foam and both the skin and the cushioning member are pressurized under the predetermined or maximum pressurizing force and then the pressurizing force is lowered to oscillate ultrasonic waves and finally both are pressurized under the predetermined or maximum pressurizing force in order to weld the skin to the cushioning member. CONSTITUTION:A tool horn has two welding surfaces each of which has 100mm or more in length and about 2mm in width and which are provided parallel to each other with a space of about 7mm between them. A foam seated on a bearer and a skin laminated the foam are pressurized with the tool horn under the predetermined or maximum pressurizing force. Next, the tool horn is raised by operating a cylinder in order to reduce the pressurizing force. After reduction in pressurizing force, ultrasonic waves are oscillated by energizing a generator. After that, the tool horn is lowered so as to pressurize the foam and the skin under the predetermined or maximum pressurizing force in order to weld the skin to the foam.
