PURPOSE:To sufficiently control vibration of a hollow yarn membrane filter and to enhance bubbling effect by providing a plurality of projections for inhibiting vibration of a hollow yarn membrane module at a definite interval in the circumferential direction to the inner face side of a protective pipe surrounding the hollow yarn membrane module. CONSTITUTION:In protective pipes 16 which are provided to the other periphery of a plurality of hollow yarn membrane filters 2 hanging from a partition plate 3 in the inside of a filter chamber 1a and opened in one part of a lower end and an upper side owing to introduction of bubbles at an interval, a plurality of projections 17 are provided toward the inside to the parts wherein possibility that these are brought into contact with joining parts 18 and tip parts 19 of the hollow yarn membrane filters 2 is present. Vibration of the membrane filters 2 which is caused by the stream of fluid while filter operation is controlled and reduced by the projections 17. Vibration of the membrane filters 2 due to bubbles fed through a bubbling pipe 2 in a time of backwash operation is controlled by the projections 17 and bubbles are sufficiently fed to even the hollow yarn 2A near to the joining parts 18 and the fixed parts 19 of the lower end wherein bubbles were difficult to be fed and backwash effect is enhanced.
