摘要 PURPOSE:To manufacture a high-strength metal-base composite material at a low cost, by carrying out pressurization at a temp. in the range between the eutectic and melting points of an Al-Mg alloy at the time of integrating an Al-Mg alloy matrix and a fibrous reinforcement into one body. CONSTITUTION:At the time of integrating the matrix of Al-Mg alloy and the fibrous reinforcement into one body, pressurization is performed at a temp. in the range between the eutectic point (450 deg.C and 437 deg.C) and melting point of the Al-mg alloy. Further, either of foil and powder will do as the form of the Al-Mg alloy and, as to the alloy contents, a composition in which volume percentage of a liquid phase at a forming temp. is regulated to about 17-50% is most suitable. Moreover, as the fibrous reinforcement, unidirectionally oriented boron fiber, carbon fiber, silicon carbide fiber, etc., are used. In this way, the high-strength metal-base composite material can be obtained at a low cost in a state where the holding temp. at the time of forming is low with obviating the necessity of a high temp.- and high pressure-generating apparatus.
