PURPOSE:To effectively lump preliminarily reduced ore by compounding and kneading a pulverized carbonaceous material with the high-temp. preliminarily reduced ore, allowing a liquid effluent to flow out of the carbonaceous material and subjecting the ore to pressure-molding with such effluent as a binder. CONSTITUTION:The high-temp. powdery preliminarily reduced ore of about >=450 deg.C discharged from a preliminary reduction furnace is supplied from a container 1 into a kneading bin 3. On the other hand, ordinary temp. slack is introduced from a hopper 11 of a carbonaceous material supply device 11 into the bin 3 by a contact feeder 12, a screw conveyor 13, and a chute 14 and is mixed with the preliminarily reduced ore in such a manner as to be incorporated therein at about >=5% of the preliminarily reduced ore. The temp. of the slack is increased by the heat retained in the preliminarily reduced ore and the liquid effluent such as tar flows out and is uniformly infiltered into the preliminarily reduced ore. While such raw material for molding is kept at about >=400 deg.C, the material is supplied by a feeder 4 to molding rolls 5, by which the raw material is pressure-molded. After the moldings are separated by a separating machine 6, the moldings are dropped into a cooling water tank 8 from which the moldings are conveyed by a vibration conveyor 7 and an ejection conveyor 9 to a prescribed place.
