PURPOSE:To obtain the titled component preventing glass cracks by a method wherein an oxygen-free Cu tape is welded to a steel wire, or a seamless oxygen- free Cu tube is continuously fitted thereto, and next a cuprous oxide coating layer is formed on the Cu-coated steel wire. CONSTITUTION:Said tape is welded to the steel wire, or said Cu tube is continuously fitted thereto, thus coating the wire with the Cu layer of a required thickness. Thereafter, the composite wire is elongated to 0.8mm.phi into an element wire 8. The wire 8 is fed out to a supplying machine 9 and then heated to a surface temperature thereof at about 900-1,000 deg.C by means of a heating burner 10, resulting in the formation of a cuprous oxide film stable at high temperatures; thereafter being immediately quenched and thus changed into a metallic wire 12 having the film. The diode electrode 15 is formed by the process of cutting and welding of the metallic wire 12 to fixed lengths or by nailing process. |
