PURPOSE:To afford suitability for writing to photographic paper and to prevent exfoliation of dye, etc., from a back coating layer by forming a silver halide photographic constituting layer on one side of a resin coated paper photographic base body, and forming a back coating layer contg. at least gelatin, porous silica, and hardener for gelatin on the opposite side of the base body. CONSTITUTION:A back coating layer contg. 1; gelatin, 2; porous silica having <=100Angstrom pore size, and 3; hardener for gelatin which is >=3wt% and <=10wt% basing on the weight of gelatin, is formed on the rear side of a photographic paper base body comprising resin-coated paper. Preferred amt. of gelatin and porous silica to be used is 2/1-1/2 by weight, and the amt. of the coated porous silica is pref. 0.5-5.0g/m<2>. Useful gelatin hardener is any of gelatin hardener used conventionally in photographic emulsion, such as active vinyl compd., active halogen compd., etc. Further, a thickener for adjusting the viscosity of the back coating liquid may be used appropriately. |
