WASHING OF PHENOLIC RESIN SYNTHESIS SOLUTION

PURPOSE:To decrease the content of conductive ions in a phenolic resin synthesis solution in an excellent efficiency of washing, by contacting the solution countercurrently with washing water with agitation in a continuous water- washing tower. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. phenolic resin synthesis solution from a synthesis kettle 1 is fed to the top of a continuous water-washing tower 4 by gravitational fall or a synthesis solution feed pump; 2-100pts.wt. washing water in a washing water tank 2 is fed to the bottom of the tower 4 by a washing water feed pump 3; the both are countercurrently contacted with each other with agitation by driving a coupled impeller 6 with an agitation motor 5; the washed phenolic resin synthesis solution is sent to the subsequent process from the bottom of the water-washing tower 4 through a washed synthesis solution feed pump 7; and the washing water containing conductive ions is sent from the top of the water washing tower to a wastewater tank 8.
