PURPOSE:To easily manufacture a cylindrical body with high roundness at the installment site by placing the drum in the prescribed outer diameter on a plate stock and by winding on the drum the plate stock with the feeding of the plate stock and dead weight of the drum. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical body manufacturing device is composed of driving rollers, 3a, 3b, 3d and liftable lift rollers 3c, 3e and a drum 2, which has the outer diameter about equivalent to the inner diameter of the cylindrical body to be formed. Now, in case of manufacturing an exhaust gas duct, etc., the lift roller 3c is descended with the drum dead weight when the drum 2 is placed on the driving rollers 3a, 3b by delivering the steel plate 1 equal to the peripheral length of the cylindrical body. With rotating the driving roller in this state, the steel plate 1 is wound on the drum 2 by the drum dead weight, so is fixed by an electromagnet 4 and welded at the spot of a slit 6. In this way, a 5-10m large diameter duct can easily be manufactured at the installment site.
