PURPOSE:To use the same IPL program even when the priority order is changed by system expansion, etc. by setting the priority order of a device for IPL in a nonvolatile RAM.. CONSTITUTION:A main storage unit 3 is provided with an area ROM.A in which an IPL program necessary for execution of initial program loading (IPL), an area RAM.B in which the program is stored by IPL and an area (nonvolatile RAM)C of a nonvolatile random access memory. The nonvolatile random access memory C holds the priority order of a device for initial program loading to make it possible to be rewritten optionally by key operation in the keyboard and not to destroy stored content despite cut off of power source. Thus, holding and alternation of the priority order can be set surely and optionally.
