PURPOSE:To fix a Bloch line pair and to stabilize the holding of information by arranging periodically and alternately two soft magnetic layer areas different in easy-to-magnetize direction on a ferromagnetic body to hold the information. CONSTITUTION:A stripe magnetic domain to hold a line pair 7 composed of Bloch lines 7a and 7b in a ferromagnetic body 1 is arranged in a direction 10 and magnetization in a magnetic wall 5 is oriented to the direction 15. At the upper part of the ferromagnetic body 1 to hold a stripe magnetic domain 11, a soft magnetic layer 2 composed of magnetic domains 31 and 32 where the easy-to-magnetize direction is different by 90 deg. is provided and easy-to- magnetize directions 41 and 42 of these magnetic domains are orthogonal to an easy-to-magnetize direction 13 of the magnetic domain 11. Thus, the line pair 7 is stable at the minimum position of energy. As such a result, the effect of fixing a bit can be obtained.
