PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to adjust a crank mechanism corresponding to a frequency and to reduce the cost of production by detecting the frequency of an AC power source which drives the developer supply device by a detecting circuit and controlling the drive of a motor according to the frequency so that the discharge goes to a predetermined amount. CONSTITUTION:A frequency detecting circuit 26 shapes an AC waveform into a rectangular waveform by a photocoupler and a waveform shaping device and inputs the rectangular waveform to the input port of a control part 34. A control part 34 computes the quantity and size of a film from the signal inputted from the detector to measure the in-use time of a developer. Consequently, the necessary amount of the developer to be replenished is computed. Further, the control part 34 inputs the signal based upon the frequency from the frequency detecting circuit to compute a time T0 for which a relay 32 operates and when the relay 32 is powered on the output shaft of the motor rotates to discharge a replenished developer from a bellows type pump, so that the developer is replenished to a developing tank 18.
