PURPOSE:To improve an S/N ratio and a dynamic range without restricting the performance of an optical system by utilizing automatic light transmission varying glass for an optical gain switching system. CONSTITUTION:The automatic light transmission varying glass (photochromic glass) is utilized for the optical gain switching system. Namely, incident light from an object whose image is to be picked up is converged by a telescope 1 and then guided to solid-state image sensors 3 of respective bands by a spectral diffraction part 2. In this case, photochromic glass 4 is provided as automatic transmissivity varying glass in front of the solid-state image sensors 3.
