PURPOSE:To improve the transmission efficiency of an entire system by providing a buffering function, a 2-way transmission/reception function to both systems and a reconstitution function of a reception data to a coupler when two loop network systems are coupled by the coupler and communicated. CONSTITUTION:The networks NW1,NW2 where central terminal equipments 2 and field terminal equipments 4 are connected respectively are coupled by a coupler 1, and the coupler l consists of a central transmission controller 11, a field transmission controller 13 and a signal exchange 12. The controller 11 consists of a receiver 111, a MODEM 112, a transmission controller 113, a MODEM 114 and a transmitter 115. The controller 13 consists of a receiver 131,a MODEM 132, a transmission controller 133, a MODEM 134 and a transmit ter 135. The controller 12 comprises 2-port buffer memories 123-l-123-4, a MPU 121, a reconstitution memory 122 and a common bus 124. Thus, the coupler 1 is capable of two-way transmission/reception between both the NWs and the data from one NW is reconstituted and sent to the other NW.
