PURPOSE:To regenerate a fuel cell without use of fluorine gas by dispersing polytetrafluoroethylene in chlorofluorocarbon, supplying the dispersion to a fuel cell member from a reaction gas supply groove of a fuel cell, and gasifying chlorofluorocarbon to exhaust. CONSTITUTION:Polytetrafluoroethylene is dispersed in chlorofluorocarbon, and the dispersion is supplied to a fuel cell member from a reaction gas supply groove 8 of a fuel cell, then chlorofluorocarbon is gasified and exhausted. Chlorofluorocarbon acts as a solvent and is gasified inside the cell member and blows off phosphoric acid. Polytetrafluoroethylene adheres to the fuel cell member such as a reaction gas passage and an electrode substrate 2 and gives water repellency to these materials. Chlorofluorocarbon having relatively high boiling point is perferable, and that indicated in the formula of CF2ClCFCl2 having a boiling point of 47.6 deg.C is especially preferable. Thereby, a fuel cell is simply regenerated without use of fluorine gas. |
