PURPOSE:To obtain the titled element having an improved responsibility by using diazabicyclo(2,2,2)octan quaternary salt as a medium. CONSTITUTION:The diazabicyclo(2,2,2)octan quaternary salt is used as the medium. The medium shows the property in which birefringence displays at a temp. lower than the transition temp. of the medium due to antisotropy of the crystal, and this birefringence disappears at a temp. higher than the transition temp. of the medium by effecting a phase change bounding a prescribed temp. Therefore, the light projecting from the medium changes bounding the transition temp. As the prescribed medium displays the phase change with very sensitivity, and any chemical change of the medium does not occur, the medium has an excellent stability and hysteresis does not remain in a repeating use. |
