PURPOSE:To connect a required defective part by extracting an end point from a picture in which a black picture element is formed to fine lines, and connecting the end point and a black picture area to correct the defective part when the black picture element area is present in the extending direction of the end point. CONSTITUTION:A picture processor 5 executes the fine line processing of the black picture element area to a processed picture stored in a picture memory 1, thereafter inputs the picture after the fine line processing to a conversion table 3 and thereby extracts the end point of a cutting and connecting object. The black picture element are on a prescribed picture element part from this end point is traced to obtain a directional component. Whether the black picture element area is present in the extending direction of the end point or not is detected based on this directional component, when it is present, a white picture element point between this end point and the black picture element area is made the cutting and connecting point and substituted by the black picture element point to connect. |
