摘要

PURPOSE:To improve surface accuracy while assuring good running property by providing a conductive layer of <=10<8>OMEGA surface resistance having fine rugged patterns which are equal in height on the surface of a nonmagnetic substrate on the side opposite from a magnetic layer provided thereon. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating compd. is coated on the nonmagnetic substrate and is dried while the coating is subjected to a magnetic field orientation treatment and in succession thereof, the coating is subjected to a surface smoothing treatment to form the magnetic layer. The conductive layer is then formed on the surface of the nonmagnetic substrate on the side opposite from the surface formed with the magnetic layer by coating the magnetic coating compd. for forming a back layer prepd. to have <=10<8>OMEGA surface resistance on said surface by using a coating machine having a coating roll 2 formed with the grid-like patterns 1 and drying the coating. The center line average height Ra of the rugged patterns 1 is adjusted to 0.05mum and the grid patterns are so formed as to have the number of cells of 85-200 per inch. The surface accuracy is thus improved while the good running property is assured.
