PURPOSE:To simplify a device by forming an image input visual field part to a rectangle having an axial direction length exceeding the width and length in the axial direction and the vertical direction of a band-shaped inspecting body. CONSTITUTION:In case of inspecting a body to be inspected 9, a visual field which can be inputted is square and narrow as shown by a code 10, therefore, it is necessary to move the body to be inspected 9, in not only the X direction but also the Y direction. Therefore, an image input visual field part of an image input device is formed to a rectangle as shown by a code 11, and also, the X direction of the body to be inspected is set to a visual field of the minimum length to the extent that a flaw can be recognized. Accordingly, the visual field in the Y direction of the body to be inspected 9 can be expanded to the minimum. That is to say, with respect to the full width of the body to be inspected 9, the input is enough by a scan of once, and it will suffice that the body to be inspected 9 is moved only in the X direction. Accordingly, a driving system and a control system for moving the body to be inspected 9 in the Y direction become unnecessary, and the device can be simplified.
