PURPOSE:To decrease number of mount sub systems of an optical submarine repeater by arranging an optical submarine repeater at each distance being nearly a half of the repeater interval of the optical reproduction repeaters and connecting alternately the optical reproduction repeater and an optical fiber in the transmission line direction. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber cable 2 consists of four pairs of optical fiber couples 21,22,23,24 and plural optical submarine repeaters are arranged on the way of the optical fiber cable 2. The interval of the arrangement is nearly a half of the repeater distance L of the optical reproduction repeater. In the N-th, (N+l)th and (N+2)th optical submarine repeaters arranged at an interval of repeaters of nearly L/2km, the optical reproduction repeaters and the optical fiber pairs are connected alternately in the direction of transmission line of one sub system. In the optical submarine repeater system as above, four sub systems of transmission lines are obtained between an A land terminal station 1A and a B land terminal station 1B, and the number of mount sub systems of the optical submarine repeaters is small, each optical submarine repeater is miniaturized and the weight is made light in comparison with a conventional repeater. |
