PURPOSE:To obtain a color photosensitive material high in sensitivity and small in deterioration of graininess by incorporating silver halide grains of trisoctahedral grains having nn1 crystal faces, n being a natural number of >=2, and a 2-equivalent 5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler in a silver halide emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:At least one of the silver halide emulsion layers is composed of the silver halide grains having nn1 crystal faces, n being a natural number of >=2, and the 2-equivalent 5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler. It is not necessary for all the surfaces of the silver halide grains to be composed of the nn1 crystal faces, but the 111 faces, 110 faces, and 100 faces may exist. It is preferred for the nn1 faces to amount to >=30%, especially, >=70% of the total areas of the silver halide grains, and further, for the weight of the grains having the nn1 faces to amount to >=50wt%, especially, >=70wt% of the total weight of all the grains. |
