PURPOSE:To control the room temperature to a temperature at which a sound sleep is secured and, at the same time to save energies during the operation of the unit, by setting the power supply interval time for a heater based on a difference between the detection temperature and the set temperature of an indoor temperature sensor during a space heating sound sleep operation of the air conditioning unit, and controlling the interval operation of the heater by a controller. CONSTITUTION:A temperature setter for defining a comfortable temperature is provided in a microcomputer 8 with a timer, said temperature being capable of determining a set temperature by classifying the same into a high temperature, a standard temperature and a low temperature. During the indoor space heating operation, the room temperature is set beforehand to a predetermined value, and power is supplied to a heater 3 and a blower 7. Thus, when the interior of the room is heated and the room temperature reaches a set temperature, a temperature sensor 6 detects it to turn OFF or ON a switch 4 connected to the computer 8 with the timer to hold the room temperature at the set temperature. Next, during the space heating sound sleep operation, the interval time of power supply to the heater 3 is set based on a difference between the detected temperature and the set temperature of the temperature sensor 6 by the microcomputer 8 with the timer. This microcomputer 8 with the timer controls the interval operation of the heater 3.
