PURPOSE:To make it possible to reduce a loss which occurs in a power charge device during drive of an electric rolling stock, by calculating the value of charged power which is necessary for starting the electric rolling stock at the next station, and the time of initiation of the power charge in accordance with signals indicating drops in voltage of a trolley wire due to the start and acceleration of the electric car when the latter start a certain station. CONSTITUTION:The value of power to be charged and the time of initiation of power charge which are required for starting the electric rolling stock 17a at the next station, is calculated in accordance with signals indicating drops in voltage of a trolley wire due to start and acceleration of the electric rolling stock when the electric rolling stock 17a starts at a station 21a. Accordingly, an electric power charge device 13 is controlled by a controller 16 in accordance with the signals indicating drops in voltage of the trolley wire, which are produced when the electric rolling stock started at the station 21a, in such a way that the power charge is started at the thus calculated time point, and power is discharged when the electric rolling stock 17 comes to be in a condition indicated by the reference numeral 17b. Further, an instruction signal from an operating time instruction device 20 connected to a computer 19 in which a train running schedule table is stored is delivered to the controller 16. Accordingly, it is possible to charge a required value of power at any time when it is required, and thereby it is possible to restrain a loss which occurs in the device 13 itself to a minimum value.
