PURPOSE:To permit decreasing the number of transformers by using a part of transformer secondary windings in common for a two-phase thyristor bridge within a positive or negative side converter group of each thyristor bridge. CONSTITUTION:Each thyristor bridge is divided into a positive side converter group l, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and a negative side converter group 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12. These groups are connected with secondary windings 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 29, 32, 33 of transformers 19, 23, 27, 31 and said secondary windings are used in common for a two-phase thyristor bridge. Primary windings 22, 26, 30, 34 of the transformers 19, 23, 27, 31 are connected with an AC power source 35. An output of each thyristor bridge is supplied to an induction motor 36.
