PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a system during a failure on the trolley line side or the D.C. power bus side, and to make it possible to effectively use recovery current, by combining breakers and diode bridge circuits so that current flows through one and the same breaker during power running operation and recovery operation, and by arranging the bridge circuits so that they become standby systems for each other. CONSTITUTION:Only two sets of thyristor breakers 23, 43 are disposed in a circuit for supplying D.C. current to trolley lines 9a-9b, and these two sets of the thyristor may cut off power running current, recovery current, and the like. Further, it is possible to surely cope with a failure in the power running bus 3, recovery bus and the like by cutting off these breakers. Further both anodes to which both diode bridge circuits 21, 41 are commonly connected and both cathodes to which the same are commonly connected, are connected together by use of D.C. breakers 81, 82 so that standby systems with which the two diodes bridge circuits 21, 41 feed power to each other, thereby if one of breakers fails, it is possible to feed power to all trolley lines through another beaker.
