<p>PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a high-caloric gas, by passing a low-caloric raw material gas through two specific kinds of pressure adsorption columns one after another to adsorb and remove low-caloric and noncombustible components, etc. CONSTITUTION:A low-caloric raw material gas consisting of low-caloric components, e.g. H2, CO, CO2, N2, etc., and/or noncombustible components and hydrocarbons is passed through the first pressure swing adsorbent column filled with an adsorbent for selectively separating CO and clinoptilolite based adsorbent to give an intermediate product gas, which is then introduced into the second pressure swing adsorbent column filled with a porous adsorbent having adsorptivity for organic gases or a material obtained by treating the surface thereof to carry out pressure swing operation and/or the above-mentioned column is washed with CH4 or the product gas to afford the aimed high-caloric gas.</p> |
