PURPOSE:To improve transmission efficiency, by a method wherein distributing valves are radially disposed between a pump cylinder and a motor cylinder, and a clutch control means is mounted to an eccentric wheel engaged with each of the distributing valves. CONSTITUTION:A number of distributing valves 45, through each of which a pump port (a) is communicated alternately with a high pressure oil passage 41 and a low pressure oil passage 40 between a pump cylinder 17 and a motor cylinder 17, are radially disposed, and a clutch control means, shifting the eccentric ring to a first and a second eccentric position, is situated to an eccentric ring 47 engaged with the distributing valve 45. This constitution enables working oil to be supplied and discharged through the distributing valves 45 without relative rotation of the pump cylinder 7 and the motor cylinder 17, and sharply reduces leak of working oil, resulting in improvement of transmission efficiency. Further, since a clutch valve for exclusive use adapted to bring a hydraulic pump into a short-circuiting state is eliminated, structure can be simplified.
