PURPOSE:To make it possible to enhance the surface accuracy of a workpiece after machining, by arranging several heating means, by machining the workpiece under a temperature control in such a condition that the workpiece is deformed in the direction reverse to that of deformation due to processing heat. CONSTITUTION:A heater control 5 controls the heating temperature of several heaters 4 arranged along the machining direction in the vicinity of a surface to be machined of a workpiece 1. A temperature sensor 6 is attached to the workpiece 1 opposing to the heaters 4 to detect actual temperatures in several parts of the workpiece 1, the result of detection of the temperature sensor 6 is delivered to a temperature catcher 7. Thus, the workpiece is controlled at several points to appropriately heat the workpiece so that the shape thereof before machining is controlled, and therefore, deformation of the workpiece due to processing heat may be canceled out. As a result, it is possible to aim at enhancing the accuracy of the workpiece after machining.
