PURPOSE:To remove the floating inclusions in molten steel as floating up, by arranging an inert gas dispersion body at bottom of a tundish for continuous casting of the molten steel and a weir for reducing a passage of the molten steel. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel in a ladle 2 is poured into the tundish 4 through a long nozzle 3 and supplied into a mold 8 for the continuous casting through a submerged nozzle 7 of the tundish. In this case, the gas dispersion body 6 and the weir 5, which reduces the passage of the molten steel at this upstream side, are arranged between the long nozzle 3 of the ladle 2 and the submerged nozzle 7 of the tundish 4 and the ratio (w)/W of the width (w) of inert gas ascending bubble zone to the width W of the molten steel passage of the weir 5 is regulated to >=0.5. When the inert gas, such as Ar, etc., is blown up as bubbling state in the molten steel from the gas dispersion body 6 and the molten steel from the ladle is passed through the upper opening part of the weir 5 and flowed toward the submerged nozzle 7, as the inclusions in the molten steel are ascended by Ar ascending bubble at the time of passing the inert gas ascending bubble zone, they are separated and removed in the flux on the molten steel.
