The subject of the invention is a sectional bar forming part of a cabin window (porthole) to constitute a fixed frame comprising, in cross section, an elongate part 11 and a rectangular part 12 shorter than the elongate part and placed at right angles with respect to the latter, one side 12A of the rectangular part providing support for a window pane and one end 11A of the elongate part being tapped for receiving screws 17 for fastening a glass clamp 16, characterised in that the portion of the elongate part 11 located, with respect to the rectangular part 12, on the side opposite the window pane, partially covers the perpendicular part 12.
