发明名称 CONTROL METHOD FOR FOAMING
摘要 PURPOSE:To exactly and quickly control foaming and to maintain a slag level at an optimum value by measuring the foaming level of the slag in a furnace and increasing or decreasing the gaseous pressure in the furnace according to the measured level. CONSTITUTION:A measuring instrument 14 is provided to the upper part of a vertical type furnace part 1 of a melt reduction furnace to optically detect the height of the slag 9. The information thereon is fed to a calculator 15 which calculates the pressure in the furnace necessary for eliminating the deviation of the measured height of the slag 9 relative to the target height. The command signal thereof is inputted to a flow rate regulating valve 16 provided to the duct part to control the opening and closing thereof. The flow rate of an exhaust gas 13 flowing in an exhaust gas duct is regulated by such control to maintain the adequate gaseous pressure in the furnace. The slag is thereby maintained at the specified height and the substantial contact of the molten metal and slag is executed so that the smelting reaction progresses smoothly.
