PURPOSE:To manufacture of bio-contamination-resistant copper alloy excellent in mechanical strength, by incorporating specific percentage of Ni, Fe, Cr, Al, Mn, Ti, and Zr to Cu. CONSTITUTION:The copper alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.0-12.0% Ni, 0.5-2.0% Fe, 0.2-1.0% Cr, 0.2-2.0% Al, 2.0-5.0% Mn, 0.1-0.5% of either or both of Ti and Zr, and the balance Cu with usual impurities is prepared. Moreover, the total content of Sn, Pb, Zn, Si, etc., as impurities is regulated to <=about 0.5%. In this way, the copper alloy excellent in resistance to bio-contamination and in mechanical strength and suitable for parts for ships, etc., can be obtained.
